Shoe brand Pantofola d’Oro, has all footwear needs covered – including boots, sneakers, classics, loafers and tennis shoes for men and women alike, plus some more feminine styles for the ladies. The overall look is elegant with a touch of sass, paired with exceptional craftmanship.
However, it was with sporting shoes that the brand really ‘kicked off’, a tradition that remains today in the range of men’s, women’s and children’s football boots that come in a select range of styles and colors.
Pantofola d’Oro was founded in 1886 in Italy’s Ascoli Piceno by the grandfather of Emidio Lazzarini, a wrestler who went on to use his cordwainer skills to make shoes for his fellow sportsmen. Throughout the 1950s, the brand came to supply its supple leather shoes to many prominent players in the national football league, leading Juventus striker, John Charles, to declare the shoes so comfortable they were like “golden slippers” - “pantofola d'oro” in Italian. In the 1960s, the brand took on this name officially before branching out into more every-day and special-occasion footwear.
